Why bother ?

N-as vrea ca site-ul sa se transforme intr-o lupta surda impotriva Microsoft, dar pur si simplu it keeps on happening. Well my friends… acum mi s-a pus capacul. And for what?!? I mean, come on Microsoft! Shame… shame on you Microsoft. Well, i kinda do… and i start thinking… Why bother?

Carmack’s Secret Engine

Well, id’s secret game engine just got revealed. In the video demonstration, you can see John Carmack showing off a very nice detailed world, and bragging about over 20GB of textures for just one map. It looks good, but the really good news is that developers are allowed to modify one level/map instantly, without compromising the map or buggin’ it. Good job guys… i can hardly wait for the next game using that engine!

Windows On Mac !

Yep. And this time, the boys from Parallels did it with OpenGL and DirectX support, cross O.S. file and app integration, support for graphics hardware, shared printers, snapshots to store the VM states (even at custom intervals), rollback, and so on. It’s interesting, and makes the Mac boys really happy. Soon, with full Vista Aero flavour. Check on their website for more infos and screens.
